TruBit and Ondo Finance Partner to Bring the First Tokenized U.S. Treasuries-backed Assets to Millions of Users across Latin America
May 12, 2025 — TruBit, a leading platform for stablecoin-powered payments and crypto trading in Latin America, has announced the integration of USDY (Ondo US Dollar Yield), a tokenized note backed by short-term U.S. Treasuries. Developed by Ondo Finance, this addition marks a strategic expansion of TruBit’s product offering and provides its extensive user base with access to a secure, yield-generating asset denominated in U.S. dollars.
In markets where inflation, currency volatility, and limited access to traditional finance are ongoing challenges, USDY offers a compelling solution: a simple and transparent way to preserve value while earning real, dollar-based yield. The integration aligns with TruBit’s commitment to democratize access to trusted financial tools and bridge the gap between Latin American users and global-grade investment opportunities.
“At TruBit, our mission is to empower users across Latin America with secure, innovative, and accessible financial tools,” said Maggie Wu, CEO and Co-Founder of TruBit. “By integrating USDY, we’re giving our users a powerful opportunity to tap into the strength of U.S. Treasuries—assets once reserved for large institutions—now available directly through our platform, with the efficiency and transparency of blockchain.”
USDY is backed by short-term U.S. Treasuries and bank demand deposits, and is available exclusively to non-U.S. individual and institutional investors. It currently offers up to 4.25% APY, updated monthly, and has accumulated over $630 million in total value locked (TVL) across multiple blockchains. Its structure combines the accessibility of a stablecoin with the performance and protections of traditional financial infrastructure.
“We’re thrilled to see TruBit lead USDY’s expansion into Latin America,” said Katie Wheeler, VP of Partnerships at Ondo Finance. “This integration offers a vital access point to yield-bearing assets for users across the region, and we’re proud to support TruBit’s effort to bring global financial tools to local markets.”
With this integration, TruBit strengthens its position as a regional leader in next-generation financial services, expanding access to secure, yield-generating digital assets across Latin America. As part of its long-term strategy, TruBit continues to build the most robust and user-centric crypto ecosystem in the region—where innovation, compliance, and real-world financial utility converge.
